Gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour are expected in places

A similar warning will come into place in Leinster at midday, Connacht at 3pm and in Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan from 4pm.

Cork City Council are advising pedestrians and motorists that there will be a period of high astronomical spring tides today and tomorrow.

It means there is a risk that some roads and parking areas along low-lying quays in the City Centre may suffer localised flooding.

All the alerts are due to expire by 9 o’clock tonight.
