Miriam O’Callaghan to host tonight’s Late Late Show as Ryan Tubridy has ‘persistent cough’
Miriam O’Callaghan will be taking over hosting duties on tonight’s Late Late Show as Ryan Tubridy is unwell.
Due to a persistent cough, Tubridy will be staying away from the studio as is best practice.
Speaking about covering the show for Ryan, Miriam O’Callaghan said “I’m delighted to be able to step in tonight and present the Late Late Show,”
“We have to keep the show on the road. Best wishes to Ryan.”
Tonight’s Late Late Show will feature tributes to frontline staff across the country who are bravely fighting against the Coronavirus. Following this, viewers will be encouraged to join in on a nation-wide applause to acknowledge the hard work of those still working to help Ireland through this outbreak.
Also on tonight’s show, global superstar Hozier will perform an exclusive set as he launches an emergency on-air appeal for the ISPCC who are experiencing an upsurge in calls to Childline.
He, along with The Coronas, Picture This, Dermot Kennedy and more will be performing online across the week to raise funds for the service.
Also chatting to Miriam tonight is Lee Duffy. Lee is a young, fit and healthy League of Ireland footballer who contracted Coronavirus and will tell the story of his experience after he was hospitalised. Lee has now recovered and will be in studio to make a plea to people to continue in their efforts of social distancing.
Joining Miriam via video calls will be Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll and his wife Jennifer Gibney in Florida and comedian Dara O’Briain will be online from London.
Former Ireland rugby player Brian O’Driscoll and legendary GAA commentator Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh will also be on the show.
