In News- Some farmers are working up to 90 hours a week because they can’t afford to hire help and man who sued over the death of his 38 year old wife days after her first baby was delivered at CUMH has settled his high court action for 1.25 Million Euro In Sport- Cork City will play in front of a crowd for the first time since last October and the European Championships kick off tonight with Italy vs Turkey at 8 pm. On the Neil Prendeville show- Mick Mulcahy spoke to Sarah who is originally from Carrigaline but now lives in Portugals’ Algarve region. Tourism is essential to her livelihood, but she is frustrated by those who don’t respect the local covid rules and restrictions.

In News- A file on the murder of Mikolaj Wilk in Ballincollig 3 years ago has still not been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions and Cork Airport is gearing up for the reopening international travel on July 19th. In Sport- Ange Postecoglou has been confirmed as Celtic’s new manager and the new season of the Red FM Hurling leagues takes place tonight with Blarney and Meelin going head to head in Blarney at 8 pm. On the Neil Prendeville show- Mick Mulcahy spoke to Kevin Cullinane, Communications Officer at Cork Airport, about the Ryanair and Lufthansa flights that are returning to the airport in July.

In News- IBEC says that the delivery of a world class transport infrastructure is vital for a good quality of life in Cork City and County and Leaving Cert students are being advised to make sure they show up for their written exams. In Sport- Cork’s Chiedozie Ogbene says there’s no room for racism in football or any other sport and the semi-finals of the French tennis open will be completed today.  On the Neil Prendeville show – Mick Mulcahy spoke to Father Jer Cremin, the Parish Priest in Killbrittain , after he held a mobile Eucharistic Procession at the weekend on the back of a pick-up truck.

In News – The Tánaiste has welcomed the news that 60 jobs have been announced at a data analytics firm in Cork and the Mayor of Waterford says the death of a baby in a dog attack is too awful for words. In Sport – Republic of Ireland take on Hungary in Budapest tonight on the back of a win against Andorra and Munster Rugby player Damian de Allende says the accident that led to him and 3 teammates suffering burns was a result of a petrol can explosion. On the Neil Prendeville show- Mick Mulcahy spoke to Olivia Kelleher from the Irish Times after a baby girl was tragically killed by a pet dog in Waterford yesterday.

In News- Dozens of public toilets are being installed at beaches ahead of the bank holiday weekend and a warning that Cork GAA should not take the support of local residents near Páirc Uí Chaoimh for granted ahead of plans for 7 concerts. In Sport- Stephen Kenny had his first win as Republic of Ireland boss beating Andorra 4-1 last night and Raphael Nadal marked his 35th birthday by booking a place in the third round of the French open. In News- Cork TD Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire says it’s outrageous that women are being forced to attend some maternity appointments alone and the Education Minister says the results of the Leaving Cert won’t be available until September. In Sport- Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny has ruled out a potential call up for Leeds striker Patrick Bamford and the boys in green face Andorra in a friendly this evening with kick-off at 5 pm. On the Neil Prendeville show- This morning Mick Mulcahy spoke to Cork South-Central TD, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire, about his tearful speech in the Dail yesterday concerning partners not being allowed into maternity appointments.

In News- The social protection minister is insisting that changes to the local property tax are being done in the interest of fairness and hoteliers in Cork expect the vast majority of their rooms to be full during the summer. In sport- The GAA have confirmed that 100 supporters will be able to attend matches from next Monday and Live Score has received the broadcasting rights for the Champions League in the Republic of Ireland. On the Neil Prendeville show- Neil spoke to Una Butler about parents with mental illness. Una lost her two children to murder suicide at the hands of her husband back in 2010.

In News- The OPW minister has hit out at trolls and has accused them of having no interest in protecting the environment and former Debenhams staff have vowed to campaign for a reform on redundancy legislation. In Sport- Cork City and Cobh Ramblers are both in action today and the Cork Ladies Footballers play their first game of the Lidl National League against Tipperary. In News- Non- essential retail is opened for the first time in months on Monday with a hope that pent-up demand will boost trade in the City and disruptions expected in hospitals in the coming days following the HSE cyber attack. In Sport – Cork’s Football manager Ronan McCarthy says he’ll be looking for an improvement this week as his side go in search of their first win on the Allianz league and in hurling Galway beat All- Ireland Champions Limerick on a scoreline of 0-26 to 1-17.
